
Higgs bozonizarrachalar fizikasi Standart Modelidagi massiv skalar elementar zarrachadir. Peter Higgs sharafiga shunday nomlangan. Higgs bozoni Higgs maydoni kvantidir; u massasizzarrachalarning qanday qilib materiyamassasini hosil qilishini izohlab berishi mumkinligi faraz qilinmoqda. Higgs bozonini topish va aniqlash uchun 2010-yil boshlarida ishga tushirilgan Katta Adron Kollayderi (Large Hadron Collider, LHC) yordamida tajribalar o'tkazilmoqda.
2012-yil 4-iyulida CERN"Higgs bozoniga o'xshash" zarracha topilganini ko'rsatish uchun zaruriy "besh sigma" darajasidagi dalil borligini tasdiqladi. [1][2]
